BU-2 Fine Gauge Copper Brazer for Precision Wire Joining

The Model BU-2 Silver Solder Brazer from Micro Products Company delivers accurate, low-heat joining of fine copper conductors in a streamlined, shop-floor-ready package. Like its companion model, it works by seating both conductor ends in the alignment dies and adding a silver solder chip, letting the brazer form a strong joint with minimal operator effort. The BU-2 draws a maximum of 10 amps, and its ball-bearing headpiece and spring-loaded clamp fingers ensure consistent alignment on every cycle. The step-less VARIAC regulator, analog heat indicator, and selectable manual or timer-controlled brazing give operators precise command over the joint. Available as a bench mount or on a 4-wheel truck, with a squaring shear and work lamp included, the BU-2 is suited to flexible, repeatable production wherever it’s needed.

Applications

Silver-solder brazing of fine gauge solid and stranded copper conductor where controlled, low-heat joining is required

Joining fine gauge brass, bronze, and nickel conductor at the bench or on the shop floor

Rejoining fine conductor ends during wire processing and respooling to maintain production continuity

Precision brazing wherever accurate alignment, adjustable heat, and repeatable timing are needed

Real-World Benefits

  • Super-sensitive ball-bearing headpiece and spring-loaded clamp fingers hold both conductor ends in consistent alignment before and during the braze.
  • Step-less VARIAC heat selection with an analog level indicator lets operators fine-tune heat for different conductor sizes and alloys.
  • Selectable manual or timer-controlled brazing supports both mixed bench work and repeatable production runs.
  • Mechanical upset and simple silver-solder-chip loading keep operation straightforward, with a mounted work lamp and squaring shear included.
  • Available as a bench mount or on a 4-wheel truck, the BU-2 fits the workspace — at the bench or moving between work areas.

Comparison to Similar Models

The BU-2 is a precision silver solder brazer — a companion to the BU-1 — using step-less VARIAC heat selection and mechanical upset for fine gauge copper, brass, bronze, and nickel conductor. For applications that call for resistance butt welding rather than brazing, or for heavier stranded conductor, the AD Series may be the appropriate range.

Shops joining fine gauge copper, brass, bronze, and nickel conductor that need precise alignment, adjustable brazing heat, and a compact bench-mount or mobile 4-wheel configuration.
