Butt Welder

J6SF Wide Steel Strip & Flat Stock Welder

Our J Series Flat Stock Micro Weld Butt Welders operate with greater efficiency, endure longer, and deliver consistent, high-quality welds on steel strip and titanium flat stock. The J6SF tops the three-model range, welding strip from .020 in (0,50 mm) to 1.25 in (31,75 mm) — the widest flat stock the line handles — on a rugged 460-lb chassis. Extra heavy-duty primary coils and secondary transformer components provide the power heavy strip requires, while solid-state 99-step SCR heat control gives fine, repeatable heat. Flat-stock anneal, heavy-duty shear, and filing vise options complete the station.

Applications

Joining the widest steel strip and flat stock ahead of forming, stamping, slitting, or coiling

Coil-to-coil joining of flat strip to keep continuous strip-processing lines fed

Band, blade, and strapping stock production where a clean flat butt weld is required

Titanium strip joining and other flat-stock work needing full-width, full-strength joints

Real-World Benefits

  • Extra heavy-duty primary coils and secondary transformer components deliver the power and reliability needed for continuous flat-stock welding.
  • Solid-state 99-step SCR heat control gives fine, repeatable heat selection across a wide strip-thickness range.
  • Foot-actuated, dual-action clamping and upset keep both hands free for strip handling and produce a consistent, operator-independent upset.
  • Selectable 240V, 480V, or 600V single-phase power drops into most shop services.
  • Mobile 4-wheel truck plus flat-stock-specific anneal, heavy-duty flat-stock shear, and flat-stock filing vise handle prep, weld, and finish.

Comparison to Similar Models

The J6SF is the largest flat-stock J Series model, welding steel strip and titanium from .020 in to 1.25 in (0.50–31.75 mm) — the widest flat stock the line handles. It is a flat-construction machine with flat-stock tooling throughout, distinct from the round-wire JC and JS lines.

On a heavy 460-lb chassis with the line’s largest transformer (234/117/95 max draw), the J6SF is built for the widest, heaviest strip. Choose it when your flat stock exceeds the J5SF’s 1.00 in width. If you weld round wire or rod rather than flat strip, choose the corresponding JC (non-ferrous) or JS (ferrous) model.

Manufacturers joining the widest steel strip and flat stock (up to 1.25 in) — heavy band, blade, and strapping production, or titanium strip — that need maximum flat-stock capacity in the J Series.
