Butt Welder

J3S Steel & Stainless Wire Butt Welder

Transform your welding operations with the JS Series Micro Weld Butt Welders — engineered for durability, performance, and consistent, high-quality welds on solid steel, stainless, and titanium wire and rod up to .5 in (12,7 mm) across the range. The J3S is the finest-capacity model in the five-model line, welding solid steel from .020 in (0,50 mm) to .080 in (2,03 mm). An extra heavy-duty transformer supports continuous processing, while solid-state 99-step SCR heat control delivers the fine, repeatable heat stainless and titanium required. Foot-actuated dual-action clamping and upset keep both hands free, and selectable 120V, 240V, or 480V power simplifies installation.

Applications

Joining the lightest solid steel, stainless, or titanium wire and rod ahead of drawing, forming, or coiling

Continuous-line splicing in spring, fastener, wire-form, fencing, and reinforcing-mesh production

Rejoining stock on payoff and take-up lines to keep a running line fed

Stainless and titanium wire and rod joining where a clean, full-strength butt weld is required

Real-World Benefits

  • Extra heavy-duty transformer supports continuous processing of steel wire and rod without duty-cycle stalls.
  • Solid-state 99-step SCR heat control delivers fine, repeatable heat selection — important for consistent results on stainless and titanium.
  • Foot-actuated, dual-action clamping and upset keep both hands free for wire handling and give a consistent, operator-independent upset.
  • Selectable 120V, 240V, or 480V single-phase power makes the machine easy to drop into most shop services.
  • Mobile 4-wheel truck lets the station move to the line; anneal, vise, shear, and grinder options handle prep, weld, and finish.

Comparison to Similar Models

“S” models are the ferrous line — the JS Series — welding solid steel, stainless, and titanium wire and rod up to .5 in across the full range. This is the counterpart to the non-ferrous JC line (copper/aluminum) and the flat-stock JSF line, all built on the same J chassis with the same foot-actuated upset and SCR heat control.

The J3S is the smallest-capacity JS model, welding solid steel from .020 in to .080 in (0.50–2.03 mm) — the finest steel range in the line. Step up to the J4S (.040–.160 in), J5S (.060–.250 in), or J6S (.187–.375 in) as your stock grows. For non-ferrous wire choose the JC line; for flat strip choose the JSF line.

Shops running the lightest solid steel, stainless, or titanium wire (.020–.080 in) — fine springs, wire forms, and fasteners — that want the smallest, most economical, easy-to-handle JS-Series welder.
