Butt Welder

J6S Heavy Steel & Stainless Rod Welder

Transform your welding operations with the JS Series Micro Weld Butt Welders — engineered for durability, performance, and consistent, high-quality welds on solid steel, stainless, and titanium wire and rod. The J6S handles the heavy end of the range, welding solid steel rod from .187 in (4,74 mm) to .375 in (9,52 mm) on a rugged 460-lb chassis. An extra heavy-duty transformer sustains continuous processing of heavy rod, and solid-state 99-step SCR heat control provides the fine, repeatable heat stainless and titanium require. Foot-actuated dual-action clamping and upset deliver consistent results, on 240V, 480V, or 600V single-phase power.

Applications

Joining heavy solid steel, stainless, or titanium wire and rod ahead of drawing, forming, or coiling

Continuous-line splicing in spring, fastener, wire-form, fencing, and reinforcing-mesh production

Rejoining stock on payoff and take-up lines to keep a running line fed

Stainless and titanium wire and rod joining where a clean, full-strength butt weld is required

Real-World Benefits

  • Extra heavy-duty transformer supports continuous processing of steel wire and rod without duty-cycle stalls.
  • Solid-state 99-step SCR heat control delivers fine, repeatable heat selection — important for consistent results on stainless and titanium.
  • Foot-actuated, dual-action clamping and upset keep both hands free for wire handling and give a consistent, operator-independent upset.
  • Selectable 240V, 480V, or 600V single-phase power makes the machine easy to drop into most shop services.
  • Mobile 4-wheel truck lets the station move to the line; anneal, vise, shear, and grinder options handle prep, weld, and finish.

Comparison to Similar Models

The J6S is the largest-capacity ferrous JS model offered here, welding solid steel, stainless, and titanium from .187 in to .375 in (4.74–9.52 mm) — heavy rod approaching the top of the J Series’ .5 in range. It welds the same metals as the rest of the “S” line on a heavy 460-lb chassis.

Choose the J6S when your steel or stainless rod exceeds the J5S’s .250 in ceiling. Above it in the full JS Series sits the J8S for the very largest sections. For non-ferrous wire choose the JC line; for flat strip, the JSF line.

Shops running heavy solid steel, stainless, or titanium rod (.187–.375 in) that need near-top-of-range JS-Series capacity with a heavy-duty transformer and mobile truck.
