Butt Welder

RW-4 Ring Welder | Steel Rings to .5 in

The RW-4 tops Micro Weld’s RW series, joining the largest rings the platform handles — solid steel and titanium from .250 to .500 in (6.35–12.7 mm). Engineered for high-speed piece production and coil-to-coil wire welding, it delivers the highest upset force in the series through electrically controlled, pneumatically actuated clamps and Interlock 108 SCR weld control. Its 550 lb frame provides the stability heavier ring stock demands, making the RW-4 the right choice for the most substantial ring and loop welding within the RW range.

Real-World Benefits

  • Maximum series capacity: Handles the largest rings in the RW line, up to .500 in.
  • Highest upset force: Delivers the pressure heavier ring stock needs for sound welds.
  • Stable platform: The 550 lb frame keeps larger rings positioned securely during welding.
  • Clean, quick cycles: Pneumatically actuated upset supports efficient high-piece-count runs.
  • Repeatable quality: Interlock 108 SCR weld control keeps energy consistent across cycles.

Comparison to Similar Models

The RW-4 is the largest-capacity ring welder in the series, extending beyond the RW-3 (.187–.375 in) to a .500 in maximum and overlapping the RW-3 through the .250–.375 in band. For smaller rings, the RW-1, RW-2, or RW-3 will be more suitable. If your work involves solid steel rod rather than formed rings at these diameters, the J8S or THD are the better platforms — the RW-4 is optimized specifically for closing larger rings and joining coil ends.
